Mount Kelly COP26

Posted: 8th November 2021

Pupils at the Prep have been involved in their very own COP26 Summit this morning, discussing what they can do at home, school, locally and globally to reduce their carbon footprint or to raise awareness of the climate crisis to encourage action.

Following an Earth Shot assembly, pupils learnt about COP26, its attendees, aims and agenda and the causes and consequences of climate change. They were challenged to think about the action they can take by designing bold and informative posters suggesting five things which will help to reduce their carbon footprint, writing speeches to propose achievable and affordable suggestions the school could do and writing persuasive letters to parents or MPs.
