Learning in Nature

Our Nursery pupils love jumping into their welly boots and getting out into nature. From exploring the fruit and vegetables growing in the market garden and looking for signs of Autumn, to getting gloriously muddy in the mud kitchen, there is an abundance of learning opportunities in the outdoors.

This week, children have been comparing sizes of pumpkins, ordering the length of sticks, counting acorns, and using their imagination to make pancakes, smoothies and cakes in the mud kitchen. They have also been looking for worms and learning how important they are in giving us rich, nutritious soil.

By ensuring that our children are immersed in nature every day we hope to embed a deep love of the world in them.
