Looking to the Future

Posted: 30th January 2023

It has been a busy week in Career Guidance with a group of Year 12 pupils visiting the National Apprenticeship Show on Wednesday morning where they were able to engage with employers in a range of industries from the NHS and the Armed Forces to KPMG and local legal firms. The final few Year 13 applications to UK universities have been sent off with a total of 74 Year 13 pupils and 5 OMKs applications processed. With the majority sent before Christmas, 16 pupils have already received offers from the institutions to which they have applied.

Pupils have received offers of unconditional places to read Veterinary Medicine at Nottingham and Engineering at Churchill College, Cambridge, along with a conditional place to study the Norland Early Childhood Education and Care degree course. Two pupils are preparing for interviews for Medicine in the next couple of weeks and we await news of an offer following an interview for Dentistry. We have also seen success with international university applications, with another pupil being interviewed by Harvard this week.

Once again our pupils astound us with the range of subjects they are preparing to study, with offers being received for courses from Economics and Computer Science to Modern Languages and Human Resource Management.
