Mount Kelly Expedition

Posted: 20th March 2023

Over 80 pupils took on the challenge of the Mount Kelly Expedition last weekend in order to complete their Silver or Gold DofE and Ten Tors practice walks. Several different routes were followed by the 12 teams, and pupils showed great resilience and determination in some tough conditions. The weather was mixed, with everyone soaked to the skin on Friday during the walk and camp set up. Saturday saw some improvement until the fog, rain and wind consumed the teams in the early evening to make the final few miles of walking particularly tough in the dark. The sun finally came out on Sunday, allowing all teams a strong finish.

All pupils demonstrated the Mount Kelly values of courage, grit and teamwork in abundance. A big thank you must go to the staff and parent volunteer team who made the weekend run so successfully.
