National Scientific Thinking Challenge

Posted: 9th June 2023

At the beginning of the summer term, Year 10 pupils undertook the National Scientific Thinking Challenge during Chemistry lessons.

We are delighted to announce that pupils have secured 10 Gold Awards, 5 Silver and 12 Bronze. A Gold Award places them in the top 10% of over 13,500 participants from more than 200 schools across the UK.

The challenge is organised by the University of Warwick and requires pupils to look at data, graphs and text and make deductions, spot trends, suggest hypotheses and identify anomalous results.

This was an excellent opportunity for pupils to analyse and interpret data through practical lab work and see experimental results.
