With the warm summer weather comes the open water racing season and last weekend saw Mount Kelly pupils racing in Wales and Cirencester.
On Saturday, a small group of swimmers swam at the Swim Wales & British Swimming selection event. Ruby finished 11th overall and 6th in her age group in her first ever open water race, and Emily finished 14th overall and 6th in her age group.
At the regional open water championships at the Cotswold Water Park on Sunday, the 14-strong Mount Kelly team showed up in spectacular form. A number of our swimmers were racing in open water for the first time, and it will be exciting to see how they develop further. The age group results were as follows:
- Gold: Hermance, Rueben, Constance, Barney, Beth and Emily
- Silver: Ryan and Breanna
- Bronze: Christina, Lizzy and Katie
- Billy (5th), Kelly (5th) and Samson (7th)
