This week, pupils from Year 9 attended the launch event for the Industrial Cadets Bronze Award and met their industry mentors from the Product Design Engineering team at Schneider Electric.
Narrowing their design brief choices to Zero Waste and My School is an Island, pupils will now work as a team to produce a design solution, prototype model and professional presentation ready for the national competition in Bath in early 2024.
The 12-week programme with see the team take part in a structured programme of activities including project work, site visits, presentations, hands-on team tasks, workshops and role model interaction. They will gain valuable insight into the world of work, develop employability skills, career awareness and develop links with industry and partners.
At the end of the programme, they will get recognition for their experience and achievements, and graduate as Industrial Cadets.
