Year 9 Entry (13+)
While the ideal time to apply is during the Michaelmas Term of the year preceding entry, we also regularly accept in-year applications into both Year 9 and Year 10, subject to availability.
Wherever possible, we will arrange a visit to the College and a meeting with the Deputy Head (Academic). This is a valuable opportunity to explore subject choices, learn more about the GCSE pathway, and get a feel for the teaching and support available.
All applicants sit an assessment, designed to help us understand your child’s strengths and ensure they’re placed in the right sets for each subject. We also review school reports as part of the admissions process.
Scholarships
Scholarship assessments take place in early February each year, with application toward the end of the Michaelmas Term. If your child is applying outside the published scholarship dates, please contact the Admissions Office, we are on occasion able to consider scholarship applications at other times of the year, depending on circumstance.
Applicants for scholarships will take Mount Kelly’s own scholarship papers, practical assessments or auditions dependent upon the nature of the scholarship being applied for. Full details are available from the Admissions team.
Looking Ahead
Once pupils join the College in Year 9, they typically continue through to Sixth Form and the A Level programme, as appropriate. From their very first day, we focus on helping each pupil settle in, thrive, and achieve their potential, both academically and personally.
