Years 9 & 10
Pupils will receive career education through career lessons delivered as part of their PSHE lessons. Lessons will focus on identifying strengths and weaknesses and skills. Pupils in Year 9 will concentrate on choosing GCSE subjects that will help them progress in the future.
Year 11
Pupils in Year 11 will complete the psychometric tests on Unifrog. During PSHE lessons they will have the opportunity to research the options these have highlighted and will discuss the outcomes with their tutor and Head of Guidance.
Supporting International University Applications
At Mount Kelly, we understand that many pupils aspire to continue their education beyond the UK, whether at prestigious universities in their home countries or abroad. Our dedicated Guidance team provides tailored support for international university applications, helping pupils navigate the complex admissions processes with confidence.
For pupils interested in studying in their home countries, we offer personalised advice on application requirements, entrance exams, and interview preparation to maximise their chances of success.
We also recognise the growing interest in pursuing higher education in the USA, particularly through NCAA College Sports scholarships. Mount Kelly’s strong sporting tradition, especially in swimming and girls’ football, makes us a natural gateway for pupils aiming to combine academic excellence with elite-level sport. Our experienced team guides aspiring student-athletes through the NCAA recruitment process, including eligibility certification, application support, and communication with US college coaches. Lectures on USA pathways are available to all pupils from Year 9 upwards throughout the year. We also regularly welcome representatives from US colleges to our campus to meet with potential applicants.
Whether your goal is a university near home or a scholarship across the Atlantic, Mount Kelly is committed to supporting every pupil’s international ambitions and helping them secure the best possible opportunities.
