OMK Hockey Match

Posted: 10th September 2021

The first weekend of the new term saw the 1st XI take on the Old Mount Kelleian XI as part of their pre-season preparation. Saturday’s fixture against the OMKs was a competitive event with both former pupils, staff, and current staff forming the core of the side.

Mount Kelly’s XI started off on the back foot and took the first 30 minutes to really get going. Becky Lamb (former Prep staff) made the most of Mount Kelly’s fragilities and scored twice in quick succession to put them on the back foot.

The second half was a very different story and the current XI grew into the game with more confidence and better quality in the final third of the pitch. Debutant, Jemima, made the most of her chance at a short corner, rattling in a firm shot from the top of the circle. Daisy added another two goals to put Mount Kelly back in control of the game. The team saw out the match in confident style and added a further 2 goals to seal an impressive 5-2 victory to Mount Kelly.

Many thanks to those who returned to play for the OMK side in what was an enjoyable afternoon of hockey.
