How do you choose the best school for your child?

  • Make a short list of schools and request a copy of their prospectus pack, then attend open days or arrange one to one visits.
  • Meet with a senior leadership team member, teachers, and the admissions department.
  • Ask questions of interest to you – eg about the curriculum, how do you measure and track academic progress, sports on offer, extra-curricular activities, class sizes, what is included in the fees and what are extra costs.
  • Observe part of a lesson.
  • See how pupils are interacting and behaving.
  • Take in the atmosphere – could you imagine your child being happy at the school?
  • Attend a “Taster Day” whereby your child spends all day at the school engaging in all that is on offer. They will get a real sense of what the school is like.
