We want our pupils to bounce into school every morning, excited and ready for full, active days. Every child is unique, and we put them at the heart of all we do.
A healthy balance of core academics sits alongside sport, drama, ICT, art, music, design technology, and our inspiring Shackleton programme. Learning extends beyond the classroom with regular trips and hands-on activities that bring subjects to life. The Prep is surrounded by nature, a place where learning extends beyond the classroom, with space to explore, grow, and thrive every day.
We are passionate about fostering a love of reading. Our Accelerated Reader programme, with personal targets and quizzes, combined with daily reading time and core texts in English lessons, ensures every pupil is fully immersed in a rich reading culture.
Pupils enjoy daily free play outdoors, exploring areas like Sunny Slopes, the Adventure Area, Stable Yard, Sports Hall Playground, and The Jungle, all under the watchful eye of friendly duty staff.
The school day begins at 08:15 with registration at 08:25. For busy families, our breakfast club opens from 07:30, offering cooked or continental breakfasts to start the day right.
Assemblies take place on Mondays and Fridays, where the Head of Prep celebrates pupil achievements. Other days include PSHE, House and Form assemblies, and choir practice before lessons begin at 09:10.
The school day ends at 16:35, followed by a wide range of after-school clubs. We encourage every child to explore new interests and enjoy supervised prep time. Pupils can also stay for supper, and boarders have access to evening activities and boarders’ prep if needed.
