Newton House

Newton, a boarding house for boys in the Years 9 to 13, provides every boy with a safe and secure environment where they can develop the confidence to engage in new experiences and activities and to achieve their full potential.

The House ethos encourages family values and is closely based on the Mount Kelly Purpose and Values. The fierce House loyalty amongst the boys does not exclude the enjoyment of joint activities with other Houses, such as dinner nights, BBQs and football matches. We welcome boys into the House as they transition from the Prep and from other Schools, throughout years 9 to 12. This is an exciting time for the boys, as they are encouraged to be more resourceful and self-motivated to do their best academically and make the most of the co-curricular opportunities available at Mount Kelly. Our excellent team of Tutors is always on hand to offer individual support and advice to ensure every child has the best chance of success.

Newton House is a beautiful Georgian building surrounded by plenty of open space where the boys can run, play ball games, and generally let off steam. In addition to the dormitories, there are light, spacious communal areas for working and relaxing, and a kitchen area where boys can prepare snacks and drinks during the day and in the evening.
