Lake Poet Artefacts

Posted: 20th March 2020

The grandparents of Year 12 pupil, Marcus, kindly lent some Coleridge artefacts from their collection for him to share with his fellow A level English Literature pupils. Marcus is the great great great great great grandson of the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. The collection includes a lock of hair taken from Coleridge on the day of his death in 1834 and locks of hair from fellow Lake Poets, William Wordsworth and Robert Southey. We are also fortunate to currently have one of Wordsworth's descendants at Mount Kelly too, Alex Wordsworth, who is a Geography PGCE student.
