This year the College has decided to support three charities; one local, national and international. The College charity committee researched and presented a selection in Head Master’s assembly. Following a full College community vote we are supporting: Hugs Children’s Cancer Charity (local), RSPCA (national) and Make a Wish (international). Hugs Children’s Cancer Charity helps local families with children who have cancer, RSPCA is a charity that helps with animal welfare and Make a Wish brings moments of magic to children living with a disability, serious illness or life-limiting conditions.
Pupils, parents and staff raised a fantastic £21,000 for charity in the last academic year. £16,000 was raised for School in a bag, through pop-up stalls, sponsorship of the Exmoor Challenge, cycling, and a triathlon, a raffle, cabaret night and Prep Drive-Thru. The Mount Kelly Parents’ Association ran a Quiz and Curry Nuight and a Christmas fair, and there was a non-uniform day to support Children in Need and bakes sale for Macmillan Cancer Support. The committee hopes that everyone will support the various charity events planned throughout this academic year.
