Shackleton Programme

students on paddleboards

Mount Kelly’s Shackleton programme offers pupils in the the Middle and Upper Prep the opportunity to try new activities and push themselves out of their comfort zone. Over the last few weeks they have enjoyed a varied programme on both land and water, and it has been wonderful to see the children support each other both physically and mentally through the activities, showing true Mount Kelly values throughout.

Year 5 spent the day climbing at Plymouth Life Centre.

Year 6 pupils enjoyed a wonderful caving experience at Pridhamsleigh Cavern in Ashburton and a climbing, abseiling and scrambling session at Leigh Tor.

Year 7 pupils spent the day climbing, abseiling and tackling a ridge scramble at Hound Tor.

Year 8 pupils spent the day canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking in Totnes.
