Middle and Upper Prep Shackleton

This week, Middle and Upper Prep pupils took part in the Shackleton Programme, developing new skills, embracing challenges and stepping outside their comfort zones. Despite the hot weather, this week’s programme was carefully adapted where necessary to ensure everyone could enjoy their activities safely.

Years 3 and 4 travelled to the Dewerstone for a day of climbing, abseiling and weaselling, while Years 5 and 6 enjoyed action-packed sessions with Simply Outdoors. Year 5 developed their teamwork and outdoor skills through rope climbing, orienteering and bushcraft, while Year 6 tackled a range of exciting challenges including a parachute jump, high ropes, archery and problem-solving activities.

Year 7 enjoyed the water with a visit to South Reed Farm Fisheries, where they took part in kayaking, canoeing and raft building. Led by Simply Outdoors, the day featured a series of fun challenges, with unsuccessful attempts often resulting in an entertaining splash into the water.
