Heritage Craft Skills Course

Year 13 pupil, Thomas, recently enjoyed three days of learning heritage craft skills on a course run by Tavistock Town Council's Heritage Initiatives, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. A range of professionals were on hand during the course, including experimental archaeologist, Marc Cox, and sculptor, stonemason and chair of Devon Artists' Network, Zoe Singleton. The course enabled pupils to work with three important materials central to the building and repair of heritage buildings.

Course coordinator, Lizzie Mee, stated, "I hope the experience has broadened students’ knowledge of building and also enriched their formal courses in design and technology. I thoroughly enjoyed having Tom with us and I hope he also learnt something about Tavistock and its history".
