Pupils Study Endangered Species

Year 6 pupils began a Science project about endangered species by visiting Paignton Zoo on Monday to help them understand the conflict that exists between humans and animals. They were given an excellent talk about endangered animals, trafficking and the role that zoos play in conservation in locations around the world.

Each pupil will now choose an endangered animal to study and write a project about. They will research the geographic range, diets, characteristics and threats to each species, reflecting on the impact of human behaviour.

The pupils showed great enthusiasm throughout the visit and will hopefully be inspired to take action to help preserve our incredible world, whether by reducing rubbish or by the sponsorship of vulnerable species.
