Pharmacists Visit Biomedical Society

Biomedical Pharmacists Visit

On Monday, members of the Biomedical Society were treated to a visit by two local pharmacists.

Pupils enjoyed an enriching session learning about the working day and the skills and attributes needed to be a good pharmacist. During an informal Q&A, pupils asked about the difference between community and hospital pharmacy work, the relationship between NHS and private pharmacists and the most challenging aspects of being a pharmacist. This led to interesting conversations about the dangers of antibiotic resistant drugs and exciting advances in the omics realm of personalised medicine.

It was an excellent start to a busy half term for the society, with more visits from professionals and university field trips on the horizon.
