This summer, nine pupils from the College travelled to South Africa for our flagship Nature Conservation Programme, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish.
Pupils got fully involved in real conservation work, learning how the bush environment functions and helping to maintain and support it, and even had the incredible opportunity to take part in the dehorning of two black rhino – a mother and her calf – as part of an anti-poaching scheme working to save South Africa’s rhino population from extinction.
They also went on safari, walked with rhinos, interacted with elephants, and held snakes and baby crocodiles.
It was a fantastic trip, and we are sure the pupils will carry these memories and lessons with them into everything they do in future.
