The Mount Kelly Youth Speaks team of Ruby (Chairperson), Elena (Proposer), and Kayla (Opposer) took part in the local area heat of the Rotary Club’s Youth Speaks competition on Tuesday evening, competing against another Year 12 team from Tavistock College.
Both teams performed admirably, presenting debates on the topics of the Death Penalty and Euthanasia, however the Mount Kelly team won the heat and qualified for the District Final to be held in early March. Ruby was commended by the judges for her relaxed and confident manner as Chairperson, and both Kayla and Elena were commended for their clarity and enthusiasm in presenting their arguments. The girls should feel very proud of their achievement.
